Huckerby claims MLS player of the month

Darren Huckerby only ed the San Jose Earthquakes in July of this year, but he has already started to hit top from. Following his impressive set of performances in September, the striker has now claimed the Player of the Month award, according to the Seattle Post-Intelligencer.

During the whole of last month, Huckerby scored three goals and made one assist to help his team earn four points from three matches. Despite his brace in the team’s last game of the month, against Real Salt Lake, the Earthquakes went on to lose for the first time in nine matches.

Following that impressive run, the expansion team now stands a real chance of qualifying for the post season.
