Napoli piled the pressure on Serie A title rivals Inter by claiming a 1-0 win over struggling Lecce.
Antonio Conte’s team took advantage of playing before Inter on Saturday to move six points clear ahead of the Nerazzurri’s clash with Hellas Verona.
Giacomo Raspadori was the matchwinner for Napoli at Stadio Ettore Giardiniero, where he slammed in a free-kick in the 24th minute.
Napoli had earlier had a Romelu Lukaku goal disallowed for offside, before the match was stopped because of flares being thrown onto the pitch.
Lecce battled hard for an equaliser, with Kialonda Gaspar hitting the crossbar and Thorir Helgason forcing a fine save out of Alex Meret, while Napoli also survived a VAR check for a potential penalty for handball.
Napoli, though, held firm to grind out a fourth straight league win.
4 – Napoli have won four games in a row with a clean sheet for the fourth time in their history in #SerieA (they have never had a longer streak) and for the first time since February 2023 (four with Luciano Spalletti). Run.#LecceNapoli

Data Debrief: Keeping it clean
Napoli have now won four straight league games in a row while keeping a clean sheet in all of them.
It is the second time they have achieved the feat, having also done so in their title-winning campaign in 2022-23.
That defensive resilience was on show as Napoli limited Lecce to just one shot on target and an overall expected goals figure of 0.31.
Not that Napoli were particularly free-flowing in attack, as they mustered just 0.58 xG, but Raspadori’s moment of magic was enough to get the job done.
