Rangers FC required a penalty shoot-out to overcome second-tier Saint Johnstone FC in their Scottish Cup semi-final. After a goalless 90 minutes, substitute Daniel McBreen put the Perth underdogs ahead in extra time only for Nacho Novo to level.

Rangers then won 4-3 on penalties with Daniel Cousin scoring the decisive spot-kick. Walter Smith's side face second division Queen of the South FC, now guaranteed a UEFA Cup spot, in the final on 24 May.
