After months of heavy speculation and cryptic statements by the player himself, according to Foot Mercato, Mohamed Salah is about to sign a new two-year contract with Liverpool, which would bring the total of his time at Anfield to a round decade.

Liverpool have been facing great uncertainty over the futures of three of the pillars of their squad, with Salah, Trent Alexander-Arnold, and Virgil van Dijk all in their final three months of contract. Van Dijk has often made it clear he would love to remain at the club, while the battle seems lost for Alexander-Arnold. The 26-year-old right-back is still widely considered certain to Real Madrid as a free agent this summer, despite the fact that the recent rumours, claiming he had already reached an agreement with Los Blancos, have been denied by reliable journalists.

But it seems Liverpool have at least won the battle for Salah. At the age of 32, the Egyptian winger remains crucial for Arne Slot’s team as they rush towards the Premier League title, with 54 goal involvements (32 goals, 22 assists) in 44 matches across all competitions this season.
