Sporting striker Viktor Gyokeres wants to Arsenal and not Manchester United in the summer transfer window, according to Fabrizio Romano. The well-known and well-respected journalist has revealed that although Man United remain keen on Gyokeres, a move to Old Trafford now seems unlikely.
“Viktor Gyökeres’ priority is to Arsenal this summer despite calls from Manchester United in the recent weeks,” wrote Romano on X.
“Gyökeres always an option amid Šeško talks with no deal sealed so far, Arsenal keep assessing situation.
“United remain keen but believe deal now unlikely.”
Gyokeres is one of the best strikers in the world and was in fine form last season. The 27-year-old Sweden international found the back of the net 39 times and provided seven assists in 31 Liga Portugal starts, as Sporting won the Portuguese league title.
