Luis Enrique insisted Paris Saint-Germain would be ready for their Champions League semi-final against Arsenal despite suffering their first defeat of the Ligue 1 season.

PSG were beaten 3-1 by Nice on Friday, thanks to a Morgan Sanson brace on either side of Fabian Ruiz’s strike before Youssouf Ndayishimiye wrapped up the points.

They lost their first game in Ligue 1 since May 12, 2024, against Toulouse (W26 D6), a result that also ended their 30-match unbeaten streak in the French top-flight since the start of the season.

In fact, PSG have won just one of their last four games in all competitions (D1 L2), after winning 22 of the first 24 in 2025 (D1 L1).

Luis Enrique acknowledged his players may be affected by their form in recent weeks but sent out a rallying cry for PSG to stay true to themselves.

“The players are clearly affected,” acknowledged Luis Enrique.

“I can’t guarantee titles, I can’t guarantee trophies, but I can guarantee that we will live up to our ers, that we will fight until the last minute in every match. I can guarantee that.

“We are the best team in , and by far the best, as we have demonstrated throughout the season.

“Anyone who wants to get off the boat can do so. We remain true to our ideas, to be courageous and to think about winning the Champions League semi-finals.”

During their defeat to Nice, PSG lacked a cutting edge. They had 32 shots overall, worth 3.16 expected goals (xG), with 13 of those on target.

Nice, meanwhile, had seven attempts, accumulating 0.96 xG, and scored with all three of their efforts on target.

“We attacked in many different ways, they defended incredibly well,” Luis Enrique told DAZN of their missed chances.

“We would love to play the same kind of match against Arsenal and have 30 chances, but we have to congratulate Nice, and we will do our best to each other.”
