Paris Saint-Germain defender Presnel Kimpembe claimed a Champions League win is worth more to the French side than any other club.
The Ligue 1 champions, who are now also treble winners, emphatically achieved European glory as they thrashed Inter 5-0 at the Allianz Arena on Saturday.
Player of the Match Desire Doue scored twice while Achraf Hakimi, Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, and Senny Mayulu all got on the scoresheet.
29-year-old Kimpembe, who featured in PSG’s defeat to Bayern Munich in the 2020 showpiece, has spent his whole professional career in the French capital and explained why the victory “moved” him.
Kimpembe told Canal+: “The whole club was waiting for this trophy. It’s a huge accomplishment. We just have to enjoy the moment.
“Personally, I’m very moved. I’ve been fighting for years. Winning a Champions League here is worth five elsewhere.”
Kvaratskhelia scored the fourth goal of the game, and his third in the competition this season, a new career-high for him in a single edition.
He made the move to Paris from Napoli in the January transfer window, and felt his decision to PSG was proven to be the right choice.
“It’s crazy to say I’m a Champions League winner,” Kvaratskhelia told TNT Sports.
“It’s crazy emotions today. I think all of the team, we made this together. This is a crazy team. I’m just happy to be one of them.
“I was very happy, I really wanted to come here. [Now] we see it was the right choice.”
PSG, who fielded a starting lineup with the third-youngest average age ever in a Champions League final at 25 years and 96 days, became the first team since 1962 to score five goals or more in a Champions League/European Cup final.
